Expert Blames Cardiovascular Disease On Careless Lifestyle
A cardiologist with the Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital (BMSH), Dr. Ikechukwu Michael Inyemenem, has blamed the rising cases of cardiovascular in the state on careless lifestyle.
Dr. Inyemenem who said this in a paper presented at a meeting of the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt also condemned the incessant usage of air conditioners by members of the society.
He stressed the need for a reduction in salt and sugar intake, while stressing the need for regular checking of blood pressure.
Also speaking in his lecture entitled: “Vocational Service the hub of community development, Rotarian. Philip Mebradu said that every locations must be harnessed for the benefits of the society.
Rotarian Mebradau who described Rotarians as volunteer workers, said that since the inception of the club years ago. It has rendered numerous services for the upliftment of the society.
He said that the situation has underscored the need for individuals and group to toe the part of rotary by using their callings for societal development.
Meanwhile the Amayanabo of Opobo Kingdom, HRM King Dandison Jaja Jeki (V) has said that the club has done so much to transform the society.
Speaking shortly after being invested with a Paul Harris fellow the traditional ruler said that the society would be a better place, if the people will imbibe especially the club 4-way test.
In his speech, the president Rotary Club of Port Harcourt GRA District 9140, Rotarian Sam Mba said that the Amanyanabo’s donation has contributed towards the immunisation of millions of children across the world.
He urged the monarch not to relent as it is the wish of the club that he becomes a major donor.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
