Orphanage Homes To Honour Rivers Governor
Orphanage homes in Rivers State under the umbrella of coalition of orphanage homes have picked Rivers State Governor Rt. Hon Chibuke Rotimi Amaechi as the governor to be honoured for identifying with less priviledged persons in the society.
The chief convener of the programme Comrade Emma Nkweke said that the state governor was chosen for the honour because of his humanitariary gesture to orphanage homes particularly the relocation of life time caring orphanage of Eleme to a better place following the demolition exercise in Eleme Local Government Area, of the state.
Speaking in an interview with The Tide in Port Harcourt, Comrade Nkweke disclosed that the occasion which is expected to be chaired by Senator Thompson George Sekibo will take place on July 23, 2011 while special prayer will be offered for the peace and success of governor Amaechi’s administration.
He also stated that the state governor through the Ministry of Health flew one master Daniel Azuzo to Israel for a surgical operation to correct a hole in his heart.
According to him, the First Lady of Nigerian Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan and the wife of Rivers State governor, Dame Judith Amaechi are expected to attend the occasion to be while the chairman of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Prince Chimbiko Akorolu.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
