The newly appointed Caretaker Committee Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Mr Pepson Gonee, has pledged the commitment of his administration to the maintenance of peace and good neigbourliness among the people of Khana.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after being screened on the floor of the Rivers State House of Assembly, in Port Harcourt, recently, Mr Gonee disclosed that the security of lives and properly in the area was sacrosant.
He added that it was only through peace that unfettered development can be guaranteed in the local government.
Gonee, a former chairman of Radio, Television and Theatre Workers Union, RATTAWU, Radio Rivers Chapter, also expressed gratitude to the people of Khana and other concerned Stakeholders for giving him the opportunity to serve them in the capacity of caretaker committee chairman. He commended the people of Ogoni over their peaceful disposition and conduct during the last general elections.
Gonee, who is also the founding president of ‘Babbe Links’, a foremost Youths Organisation in Ogoni, also solicited the support of the youths and entire people of Khana to enable him succeed in his new assignment.
