Cleric Tasks Nigerians On Dev
The Rivers District Superintendent of Assemblies of God Nigeria, Rev. Dr. D.D.S. Ibulubo, says Nigeria is on the threshold of holistic development if the citizenry will cue into God’s revealed will this year.
Ibulubo, who said that the leadership factor is fundamental to the growth or otherwise of any nation, however remarked that it takes divine and human partnership for positive change to happen.
Speaking to The Tide in Port Harcourt, Ibulubo said Nigeria is a great nation blessed with manpower and natural resources that needed to be maximally harnessed for the good of all.
The Minister of God said no nation could make a head way in development if those in the leadership saddle lose sight of the God-factor which according to him is inevitable and critical to success.
Except the Lord builds the city, the Church administrator asserted, human labour without the divine factor would translate to an exercise in futility.
He said if God was given prime place in all tiers of governance in Nigeria, the socio-economic and political upheavals that characterised governance in the past would have been stemmed.
Ibulubo however advised Christian faithful to be actively involved in the processes of electing leaders in the country from the ward to the national level.
According to him, apathy towards politics has far more debilitating consequences than the perceived premonition of compromise.
He therefore called on Christians to participate in the forthcoming voters’ registration exercise, and exercise their voting right according to the dictates of sound judgement and reliable conscience.
He commended the President, Gooddluck Jonathan for showing a reasonable level of commitment towards the unity and development of the country, and noted that Nigerian has achieved significant progress within the short period of his Presidency.
He also commended Governor Chibuike Amaechi for what he described as his ‘giant strides developing the critical sectors of the state.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
