In the arrangement, the FHA is to assist the university in the development of facilities to enable the institution move to its permanent site without further delay.
The Managing Director of FHA, Terver Gemade, while giving this assurance in Abuja on receiving a delegation from the university, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohammad Hamisu Muhammed, said the authority would also explore the possibility of participating in the institution’s staff housing scheme.
According to the FHA chief executive, it was part of the body’s new vision to assist sister establishments in solving their housing problems and advised the university authority to commence discussion with FHA Homes Limited, which is the Primary Mortgage Institution, with the overall view to provide mortgage for the staff housing.
Gemade also promised that his organisation will without delay dispatch a team to the university to assess its needs and appealed to the Vice Chancellor to assist the authority in the area of capacity building for its professional staff. Earlier in his speech, the Vice Chancellor, Hamisu Mohammed, had requested the authority to provide professional assessment of companies bidding to enter into partnership with the University, in the development of facilities on its permanent site, adding that the institute had operated from a temporary site for over 25 years and was determined to move.
