As part of events mapped out for the celebration of its Golden Jubilee in Nigeria, the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA), South-South zone is to exhibit assorted and latest building materials technology, as well as showcase other services in Port Harcourt.
Making this know to The Tide in his office in Port Harcourt, the chairman, NIA, Port Harcourt chapter, Architect Belema Okpokiri, said the institute is 50 years old in Nigeria, and that such calls for celebration.
According to the NIA, Nigerian architects in the South South will gather in Port Harcourt between July 13 and 16, 2010, for the golden jubilee celebration.
Okpokiri explained further that the programme, which will take place at the main hall of civic centre will feature various architectural designs, materials and services, as well as lectures.
At the end of the programme, he said that the institute will crown it will a gala/awards night, adding that various Nigerian architects in the South-South who have distinguished themselves will be honoured
Okpokiri, who is also the principal architect of peace consult said that renowned architects in the South South will grace the occasion, including the former Akwa Ibom State governor, Arch. Victor Attah, as well as the former Cross River governor, Donald Duke.
