The Lagos Chapter of the National Association of Small Scale Industrialists (NASSI) has urged its members to evolve aggressive marketing strategies to boost exports.
Mr Duro Kuteyi, chairman of the chapter, told The Tide source on Thursday in Lagos that the association would hold a seminar later in the year to educate members on such strategies.
Kuteyi said that the campaign would be conducted in all parts of the state.
He said that the association would partner with Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) and other relevant bodies to achieve the objective.
Kuteyi said that the campaign would also be launched in neighbouring states.
He reiterated the need for members to form themselves into clusters to gain advantage when approaching the state government for assistance.
“The Lagos State Government has proposed agro-estate, which shows that it can extend such facility to other micro industries, but we need to have members that are ready to group for that purpose”, Kuteyi said.
He said that the cluster arrangement would reduce production costs of industries that manufacture similar products on agreed terms.
