The Rivers State Polytechnic Bori has began revitalisation of its e-library to enable it establish a fabrication centre.
The director of the school, Prof. T.G. Sokari said this when a senior Electrical Engineer, Dr. Mfon Okpok came to the polytechnic to deliver e-copies of some engineering books for use in the school’s e-library.
Prof. Sokari noted that the Education Trust Fund (ETF) was to find the establishment of a tools fabrication centre in the polytechnic, hinting that the preparedness of his administration to promote learning and technical education in line with the aims of which the school was established.
Dr. Okpok, who is an alumnus of the institution, noted that he was determined to foster technological growth in the school in order to contribute his own part of the school’s growth.
He explained that he had earlier donated a website to the school, saying that plans are also underway by his company to donate some telecommunication tools to the school.
Some members of the Governing Council who spoke, noted that Dr. Okpok’s gesture is a laudable project.
They argued that if others could toe his path, that the school would go places in terms of development.
The presentation of the e-book and the portal for the polytechnic was witnessed by both students and management of the school.
