Nigerian Students Abroad Set Records

Nigerian students have been described as excellent scholars in their academic pursuits in the United Kingdom (UK) higher institutions. This is due to their good pedigree and sound academic background which have, to large extent, distinguished them.

The international officer, University of Wales, Newport in the United Kingdom, Mr. Glynn James, said this at the presentation of scholarships to some Nigerian students into UK universities.

The presentations were made during the Nigerian Higher Education Exhibition which held in Lagos and Abuja between May 12 and May 19.

The exhibition was packaged by the Study Group, a world leader in education and training for international students.

Study Group partners with the British Council to host the exhibition with representatives from four Bellerbys Colleges and some UK universities.

A major highlight was the visit by the Study Group to local schools in Lagos and Abuja to create awareness about educational opportunities in UK schools.

The winners of the yearly scholarship scheme announced at the British Council office in Lagos and Abuja as part of the exhibition are Tolulope Olumoyin, Toyin Ilesanmi and Miss Bamnam Dagu.

The Managing Director of Higher Education UK and Europe at the Study Group, Mr. James Pitman, says the group is delighted to offer gifted Nigerian students the opportunity to study in the UK.
