Former Minister of Culture , Tourism and National Orientation, Bello Gada said on Monday that changes were good for turning around things in the polity.
Gada said this in Sokoto in an interview with newsmen.
‘’Such changes are good for good governance and they enhance the delivery of the dividends of democracy to the people,’’ he said.
The former minister said the action of the Acting President Goodluck Jonathan in dissolving the erstwhile Executive Council of the Federation (EXCOF) should be seen in this perspective.
‘’ He (Jonathan) took over the mantle of leadership of the country sequel to the ill health of President Umaru Yar’ Adua .
‘’ Doing so connotes changes which are good for the nation as the government must continue under any circumstance,’’ he added .
Gada maintained that what should be of top priority to the Acting President was to enhance the living standard of the citizenry.
‘’ The three tiers of government require the support of all Nigerians to succeed . This is what we should ensure as patriotic and law abiding Nigerians , ‘’ he added.
While expressing no regrets for serving as a minister, Gada said that he was happy to be given the golden opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the Nigerian project .
He said the ministerial nominee from Sokoto State, Alhaji Yusuf Suleiman, as a “dedicated , loyal and law abiding PDP member”.
He appealed to the people and party loyalists to support the minister in his attempt to serve the nation.
