Nigeria Institude of Management says it has concluded plans to float university of management and strategic studies in the country.
This disclosure was made by the president and chairman of council of Nigeria institute of management chatered, Dr.Sally Akukwu Bolujoko in an interview with journalists in Port Harcourt International Airport Thursday.
Dr. Bolujoko, noted that the association has already applied to Nigeria University Commission (NUC) approval, adding that the institution may come on board before the year runs off.
She said that the need for the university became necessary due to the high managerial skill needed to move the country forward.
The NIM president, pointed out that the institution has enough manpower to mann it, hinting that it will be sited at the Federal Territory Abuja.
She expressed optimism that NUC will give the much needed approval for the university which she said that will be unique.
According to her, the country which is blessed with abundance of natural resources ought to be managed properly in-order to bring a positive result to the country.
She regretted the dearth of managerial skills in the country, hence the reason behind mismanagement of projects and institutions in the country.
The NIM boss also hinted that she was on tour to the South South region, to meet the members of the institution to pass on the mission and vision of her own administration and to explain to them how she wants things done now, and as well to know their challenges.
She hinted that the university upon establishment will be affiliated to many universities around the globe, adding that it will harness all its connections actorss the world work in order to bear the needs of Nigerians.
