NSE Market Capitalisation Remains Stable As Value Sheds N231.4m


At the end of transactions at the floor of last Nigerian Stock Exchange Friday, market ended on a negative note.

Specifically, market closed at 24,262.34 points a situation that has persisted since the end of trading on Thursday March 18, 2010.

Market capitalization also remained stable at N5.83 trillion.

Investors, Friday, bought a total of 459,444,496 shares worth N4.15 billion in 7,483 deals in contrast to 481,620,300 shares worth N4.38 billion in 8,396 deals.

The volume of shares traded went down by 4.82 percent while the value of traded equities also depreciated by 5.25 percent, N231.4 million.

The gainers chat was led by flourmill which traded a total of 7,008,109 shares worth N342.5 million in 128 deals to close at N51.39.

NNFM, Zenith Bank and Dangsuger followed, trading a total of 62,601,19,942,480 and 5,374,855 respectively worth N1.67 million N345.2 million and N94.15 million respectively in 5,372 and 74 deals respectively.

The losers chart on the other hand was led by BCC which opened and closed N64.61 and N61.38 respectively trading a total of N39,282 worth N33.11 million in 27 deals.

UAC-Prop and Ashakacem squared up behind BCC as investors bought only a total of 503,000/and 4,706,800 shares worth N9.72 million and N84.03 million in 9 and 131 deals.
