RSUST Gets New Registrar, Directors

The Governing Council of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Nkpolu, has approved the appointment of Mrs Daba Odimabo as the substantive registrar of the university.

Mrs Odimabo who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and a Masters Degree in social work and community development from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, is also a member of the Nigeria Institute of Management.

Campus Insight gathered that she took over as Acting Registrar in May 2008 from Rev. M. Y. Oguru who retired from service in April 2008.

The Governing Council has also approved the appointment of Engr. Justice N. E. Chuku as the Director of Works and Dr Dagogo Cookey-Gam as Director of Health Sciences.

The Tide On Sunday gathered that Engr. Chuku holds a B.Engg in Civil Engineering from the University of Port Harcourt, Choba and an M.Tech degree in Structural Engineering from RSUST.

The Tide On Sunday further learnt that Engr Chuku became a staff of the university on February 5, 1990 as an Executive Engineer II.  While Dr Cookey-Gam holds an MBBS degree from the University of Ibadan.

He also became a fellow of the Association of General Medical practitioners of Nigeria in 2002. The appointees have since assumed duties in their various offices.
