Commissioner Commends Indigenous Peddlers Association

Members of the Rives State Indigenous Peddlers Association have been commended for maintaining the peace and remaining law-abiding in the face of provocations.
The Commissioner for Energy and Natural Resources, Dr. Dawari George made the commendation in a meeting he held with members of the association in his office, Port Harcourt.
Dr. Dawari advised them to remain patient as government would do every thing possible to reverse the irregularities in the batching patterns of the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company (PPMC) at the Port Harcourt depot.
He expressed the desire of the present administration to create a conducive atmosphere for full participation of Rivers people in the down stream sector of the petroleum industry and charged members not to engage in illegal activities.
Earlier, the chairman of the association, Mr. Jonathan Bianwin, had enumerated their challenges such as non allocation of products to Rivers indigenes, confiscation of Rivers State quota by officials of Kerosene Peddles Association of Nigeria and the discriminatory allocation of 13,800 litres of Rivers State while 33,000 litres is given to Enugu, Aba and Makurdi peddlers.
