Management of the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO), has said that the ground handling services and cargo handling offered by the company to airlines and other organisations is the same nationwide.
The Station Manger NAHCO, Port Harcourt Airport, Biodum Adewumi who stated this in an interview recently with The Tide at the NAHCO Cargo Complex, Port Harcourt Airport, Omagwa, said the company currently has the best facilities in the nation, adding that the newly commissioned NAHCO complex at the Port Harcourt Airport would help improve market and business opportunities.
Adewumi noted that despite the crisis in the region, the ground handling company is getting more customers, explaining that NAHCO is ever ready to offer better services.
According to him, more business organisations are approaching NAHCO wanting to do business with us. This is because we have the best facility that can accommodate all at the Port Harcourt Airport. He, however, noted that with the amnesty granted to militants and calm in the region, business has started to floruish. “We plan our strategy ahead of time for future opportunity” he added.
“What we have on ground in Port Harcourt is the same nationwide. NAHCO is the same everywhere in the nation. And our services are the same” he said.
Commenting on the recent resumption of flight to Port Harcourt by Luthansa airline, the NAHCO station manager commended the airline and pledged that NAHCO would not fail in carrying out her obligations.
NAHCO handles most of the ground services of the airline, which include, provision of equipment, loading and discharging luggage and bags and other passenger services including check in”.
Adewumi said apart from the training received by the staff, Lufthansa sent some of the staff in the passenger unit for more training in Lagos, assuring that NAHCO would not be found wanting or lacking in any angle in terms of its professional obligation.
He however said the handling company has brought in more additional equipment to facilitate her operations at Port Harcourt airport.
NAHCO, currently handles Airfrance and Luthansa operations at the Port Harcourt Airport, including international cargo airlines.
