The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) says plans are on to build a health centre in Rivers State College of Arts and Science (RIVCAS) Rumuola, Port Harcourt.
Representative of the UNDP, Mrs. Emilia Obilor stated this on Tuesday, during an interactive session on the development and strategic measure on Human Immune Virus and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) with the students of the school at Rumuodamaya, headquarters of Obio/Akpor local government council.
According to her, the interactive session was geared towards knowing the level of awareness in tertiary institutions in order to build a suitable programme for the youths.
She enumerated the causes of HIV/AIDS and advised youths to abstain from sexual intercourse till they are married or never go into unprotected sex.
HIV/AIDS has killed so many people and render many hopeless, but with the suppressing medication an infected patient can live a normal life and be happy, so youths beware” Mrs. Emilia cautioned.
