Hard times await examination mercenaries and their cohorts who turn examinations in Nigeria to sources of making money as the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has promised to deal with them.
The commandant General of NSCDC, Dr Ade Abolurin said the agency had designed some new strategies to ensure that examinations conducted in the country were free of malpractices.
Dr Abolurin who disclosed the stand of the security agency in an interview with newsmen noted that the phenomenon of examination malpractice, had become a major problem confronting the education sector.
The commandant said in view of the success recorded so far in the conduct of NECO, JAMB and WAEC and promotions examination for permanent secretaries, NSCDC had demonstrated that it had the capacity to supervise examinations successfully without hitch.
He noted that examination malpractices were a global issue, and solicited the support of media practitioners to partner with NSCDC in the fight against examination fraud.
The commandant tasked the media to partner with NSCDC through public enlightenment programmes to arouse the consciousness of the public on the renewed fight against the menace.
He also called on parents and guardians to encourage their children and wards to work hard and pass their examinations through merit instead of assisting them in patronizing mercenaries.
Dr Abolurin disclosed further that the corps had also taken necessary measures to curb the increasing rate of crimes being committed through the use of handsets and computers.
