Umuechem Crisis: ELGA Councillors Absolve Nwuzi
The Etche local government legislative arm has absolved the council boss, Hon. Ephraim Nwuzi, of any wrongdoing in the crisis that rocked the Umuechem community, recently.
The leader of the House, Hon. Johnson Nwaemem who said this, while speaking with journalists in his office at Okehi recently added that the ELGA boss discharged his duty as chief executive officer by ensuring that absolute peace and tranquility was restored in the area. He said that the councillors in response to that feat passed a vote of confidence on the council boss for the role he played during the problem.
The lawmakers used the opportunity to call on the police in the state to establish a security check points a Akpoku/Umuoye boundary and the Obite/Umukuro roads to curtail the influx of militants invading the area from the neigbouring Imo State.
He used the opportunity to convey the House resolution to felicitate with the chief of staff, Rivers State Government House, Chief Nyesom Wike on his recent victory at the Court of Appeal.
Meanwhile, the ELGA legislative arm has cleared all the five supervisory councillors designate sent to them by the chairman of the council, Hon Ephraim Nwuzi from screening.
The supervisory councillors cleared by the House include Chidinma Dike, Emma Otamiri and Nnaji Ambrose. Others are Amaefule Francis and Njoku Chima.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
