Rising Insecurity, Opposition Machination Against Tinubu – APC Chieftain
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinbi (ret’d), at the weekend, said the escalating insecurity in the country was a gang-up by the opposition against President Bola Tinubu.
Brig. Gen. Adewinbi (ret’d), a security expert and the immediate past Osun Amotekun Corps State commandant, stated this on the sidelines of hosting APC’s national women leader, Mary Allele, at his residence in Ede.
He noted that the escalating security challenges were being orchestrated by the opposition parties to make the president and government look incompetent.
“The oppositions are ganging up against President Bola Tinubu, and they are trying to do everything they can do to unseat him.
“They are doing everything possible to make governance impossible, to make it look as if the president is not doing well,” Brig. Gen. Adewimbi (ret’d) said.
He noted that President Tinubu was, however, making efforts to address the situation in meetings with security and service chiefs, adding that federal government would deploy technology to address insecurity.
“I know the government is working on getting equipment like drones and machines that will give credible intelligence on locations of bandits and terrorists,” he said.
Speaking on the purpose of the APC women leader’s visit to his residence, Brig. Gen. Adewinbi (ret’d) said it was a “family affair.”
Ms Allele, while addressing the APC chieftains and faithful who came to welcome her, said she would continue to champion the course of women in government.
She, however, requested that the deputy governorship position for the 2026 election should be given to a woman, assuring them that their messages and requests would be conveyed to Abuja.
