A group that labeled itself as Defenders of Democracy has blasted Minister of FCT, Abuja, Barrister Nyesom Wike for his recent attack on statesmen and the Ijaws in the State.
The body speaking through its Director, Barrister Stanford Iruenabere and board member, Cletus Nadukoro to newsmen in Port Harcourt specifically took Wike to the cleaners for mudslinging First Republic Minister, Chief Edwin Clark and former Rivers State Governor , Chief Rufus Ada- George.
According to the body, Barrister Wike should be the one begging for forgiveness as he used his tenure to impoverish Rivers people, drove businesses away and refused to pay pensioners who died for not receiving their gratuities during his tenure.
As regards claim that Chief Ada-George sponsored Bush Boys during his tenure, the Director of the Defenders of Democracy said it was false as the former Governor had a brief tenure and did not at anytime sponsor a group of such name.
It however reminded Wike of his antics of betraying his former bosses, recalling that Wike had the streak of stabbing those who had helped him to lofty heights as Amaechi and later former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience who helped made him governor.
The group’s director said, “ it’s he, Wike that does not have character. When he was governor he insulted royal fathers here, and now today, he prostrates to traditional leaders in the North. He called APC a cancer, but today he’s wining and dining with the APC.”
On remarks by the former governor that he made Governor Fubara governor after pleading with the Ogonis and other ethnic groups, Barrister Iruenabere observed that Wike has forgotten that it was the Ijaws in Rivers State that made him governor in 2015.
The Defenders of Democracy Director recalled that Wike’s emergence was as a result of the reaction to Amaechi’s action on Jonathan, hence, the Ijaws had to back Wike even against their own in 2015.
He said”, theIkwerres did not support Wike in 2015,yet they owned him as their own and that is why Ijaws today are owning Fubara”.
The body cautioned Wike to stop causing division among ethnic groups in the State, as Ijaws are spread in the three Senatorial zones of the State and therefore do not promote sentiments among their people.
The body meanwhile has urged President Bola Tinubu to be wary of Wike as his antics show he is gunning for 2027.
“Wike is a spying and planning for 2027 Presidency and so President Tinubu should be wary of him,” the group’s director revealed.
They warned that Wike loves stiring controversy as a way to remain relevant, but noted that the glory of God has departed from him.

While urging Wike to be careful how he addresses elders and those above him, the group said nemesis has caught up with him.
