Chairman Lauds NPFL Referees Improvement
The Chairman of Rivers State Football Referees Council (RSFRC), Deima Charles, has said that officiating of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), this season 2023/2024 has improved tremendously.
According to him, he expressed gladness as referees are improving in terms of officiating in his administration and pledged to do more to enable them have credibility.
Charles popularly known as “Karika” made the assertion recently in an interview with sports journalists shortly after their Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the VIP Hall in Alfred Diete-Spiff Sports Complex, Moscow Road, in Port Harcourt.
He explained that the AGM was held to give his account of stewardship to members, saying that he is fulfilled as the council is moving forward.
“It is very interesting that they talk about the glamour of the game and we know referees are in charge of the games, under ihis tenure, there are a lot of improvements in the council in all ramifications.
“In Rivers State we have established Football Referees Academy that is ongoing; these are people that will take over from us after now. “I want to do more to improve performance of referees in the State, let fans and stakeholders know that officiating has improved”, Charles said.
