Monarch Assures Police On Crime Fighting Partnership
The Eze Oha Evo III, His Majesty King Leslie N. Eke Jp, Eze Gbakagbaka, has endorsed the Rivers State Zero Crime Team (ROC) with a promise to partner with them on the project.
Eke made this known when he received in audience the facilitators of the Team at his palace in Woji Obio/Akpor Local Government Area recently.
The programme, as initiated by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Emeka Nwonyi, will address sundry crime related issues.
The Evo Monarch said his decision to endorse the project was due to its civilian driven background.
He said such outlook will enable it succeed, as many will be at liberty to contribute their quota towards its success.
According to him, the society must be weeded of all criminal elements for it to thrive.
“I thank the Police Commissioner for the project. If the Country must move forward, we must consider zero crime level. And crime fighting must be the business of all”, he said.
Recalling how his people have been supportive of the Police, he said his Ground farther, HRH , Eze Jonathan Woke Agbara, donated the land where the present Mini Okoro Police Station is sitting, hence the urge to do more.
The Tide further learnt that the aim of the event is to sanitize, educate and partner with the citizens on ways to eradicate crime in the state.
The leader of the delegation, Mr Napoleon Koko, said the aim of their visit was to intimate the Evo King with its activities and to also seek his support.
The RoC group is made up of mostly civilians and representatives of Entertainment outfits, Actors Guild and other Private Security experts.
The Tide learnt that the event will hold from 14th – 20th September 2023 in the state.
