The Eze Oha Evo III, King Leslie Eke, has said that the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyeso Wike, has made the Rivers people to stand tall among their peers in the country due to his dogged way of handling various issues in the state and around the country.
Eke made the remark while speaking to newsmen at his palace in Woji, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state, recently.
He said Wike had created monumental capacity for Rivers people within and outside the country, and urged Rivers people to rally round the governor in his desire to make Rivers man a first class citizen.
The monarch noted that Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, can now be compared to Dubai in terms of infrastructural development.
“The state is rising up fast, economically, commercially and politically. It is now known globally and should be sustained”, he said.
He said that gone were the days when Rivers State was seen as ‘small’ in the eye of the public, stressing that Wike had made it gone viral among nations of the world.
The Eze Gbakagbaka also expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Leader of the State House of Assembly, Hon Martin Amawhule, describing him as a team player and a man that has regard for both his state and the nation.
On the general assessment of the country on its 62nd Independence Day anniversary, the royal father said there was nothing much to celebrate given the high rate of killings in the country.
