The Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Engr. Samuel Nwanosike, has assured the people of Ozuaha Community that the Community Primary School 2, which is under reconstruction by his administration, would be commissioned by the second week of November.
Nwanosike made the assurance while speaking during a joint empowerment programme with his wife for the people of Ozuaha Community.
According to him, “Let me assure you, that school will be commissioned in second week of November this year, everything complete”.
He recounted that the school was stopped halfway due to misappropriation of funds by the contractor.
Nwanosike, however, directed the contractor handling the project to come to his office on Monday for mobilisation so as to complete it before the proposed date of commissioning.
On the other hand, Nwanosike promised to deliver a 500KVA transformer to Ozuaha Community, today, in order for the people to have electricity.
He expressed displeasure over the delay in delivery of the 500KVA transformer promised to Ozuaha people by Senator Thompson George Sekibo, saying that he was told that the transformer would be delivered, yesterday.
In course of the empowerment programme, over 100 people were empowered to go back to farm, go back to school and start up small scale businesses.
The event also witnessed the defection of All Progressives Congress (APC) members to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The defectors, who were led by the Vice Chairman of APC in Ward 11, Mr Ikechukwu Wobisike, Assistant Women Leader of Ward 11 APC, Mrs Progress Nnah, and Chief Godwin Wufor-Ordu, were received by the Acting Chairman of PDP in Ikwerre, Hon. Charles Wobodo.
