Church Organises Football Tourney …Advises Youths Against Restiveness
The General Overseer of the New Creation Ambassador Church in Rivers State, Pastor Georgewill Amadi, has said that organising football tournaments in the country is a way of discouraging the youth from restiveness.
He said that it was another way to bring the youths closer to God, adding that when people gather together, it is very easy to worship God.
Amadi, who was represented by Pastor Oke Nnamdi said this on Saturday during the opening ceremony of the ongoing under14-16 football competition at the Joseph Yobo Mini Stadium, D/Line in Port Harcourt.
According to him, he deemed it necessary to sponsor the tournament because it was also a way of evangelism and bringing youths closer to God.
“I deemed it necessary to organise the tournament because it is a way of evangelism.
It is also a way of bringing people closer to the heavenly father.
It is also a way to catch them young so that they will not involve themselves in different nefarious activities,” Pastor Amadi said.
He pointed out that the church will gain through the sponsorship of the tournament because they are using the competition to teach the children the ways of God and also to win souls for God.
He used the medium to call on other churches in the state to follow suit because it is very important to bring people closer to God.
