‘Rivers United’s Impressive Performance Does Not Surprise Me’

The Technical Manager of Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt, Stanley Eguma, says he is not surprised about the impressive performance of  his team, as the players are prepared and determined to win the  Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) this season.
He stated that the past three seasons saw them close to winning the League.
Eguma said this on Monday in his post match interview shortly after United defeated Enyimba FC 2-0 in the match day 23 of the NPFL at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
Homeboy Ishaq Kayode first saw the back of the net in 21st minute while Chiamaka Madu, crowned it  in the 33rd minute of the first half.
He described the game as a good one, saying that Enyimba FC put in their last drop of their blood to ensure they get good result but the better side got  the three points.
According to him, Enyimba FC showed that they were  former champions and  attributed the victory to his players that put up good performance and commitment in the game.
“ I thank my players for the good outing and commitment.
I think our opponents wanted to get a result  from us but despite our long travels from Kastina State, it showed that my players are really focusing on getting victory this season.
“We still need to work above our capacity because we are now a target of every other team in the League and we will not relent,” he said.
