TEAM RIVERS SET TO WIN 4×400  ” MORROW”  …Wins Triple jump Silver

Kelvin Wonodi of Team Rivers has won silver medal in the triple jump event in male category at the ongoing Niger Delta Games(NDG), holding in Benin, Edo State.

Wonodi jumped 14.36m to clinched the medal, it was a keenly contested event.

Team Rivers has qualified for the finals of 4×400 mixed relay , that will take place tomorrow at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.

In his reactions the athletics coach of team Rivers Micah Michael Esuku said he is optimistic that they win they remaining events.

He noted that games is not all about winning medals but it is aimed to discover talents and groom them.

“My athletes are trying their best and happy with because they are putting in their best, already we have won one silver medal in triple jump in the male category, and won two  bronze medals both in male and female in Hammer throw..

” The Niger Delta Games is not all about winning medals but aimed at developing hidden talents at the grassroots,” Esuku said.
