Ahead of the 2023 general elections, a youth-based organisation, Rivers State Youth Federation, Khana Chapter, has commenced senstisation campaign against youth involvement in electoral violence and other anti social behaviour.
The sensitization campaign was flagged off at Bori, Headquarters of Khana Local Government Area, recently, during the formal inauguration of the newly elected executive of the Khana chapter of the Rivers State Youth Federation.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the occasion, Elder Eredor Nwako congratulated the new exco and urged them to be proactive in their role of promoting peace and development in Khana communities.
Nwako, a community leader, pointed out that youth are mostly lured to violence during elections and urged them not to make themselves vulnerable to any political trappings that would endanger their lives, no matter how mouthwatering the offer may be.
On his part, the Chairman of Police Community Relations Committee(PCRC) in Rivers State, Chief Caska Ogosu, also congratulated the new executive of the youth body in Khana LGA and urged them to work assiduously to ensure the prevalence of sustainable peace in Khana.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Chairman of Khana Local Government Area on Youth,  Comrade Neeka Idemyor, pledged the support of the Council authorities to the body and urged them to work towards achieving the objectives of promoting peace in the area.

While assuring the Council’s support to the body, he pointed out that the LGA would not hesitate to report the leadership of the body to the relevant authorities for questioning if they reneged on their statutory obligations.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the flagg off of the anti election violence campaign, the newly sworn in chairman of the Khana chapter of the Rivers State Youth Federation, Comrade Neemene Kpugisi, thanked the body for giving him the opportunity to serve.

Apart from embarking on intensive grassroots campaign against youth involvement in electoral violence,
