Community Gets Eight-Man Executive Committee
The Nzuko Obibi socio-cultural organisation in Etche local Government Area of Rivers State, has elected an eight-man executive committee to drive the developmental agenda of Obibi Community for three years.
The Nzuko Obibi is the apex socio-cultural organisation in the area saddled with the responsibility of maintaining peace and order and ensuring development of the area with a view to uplifting the living standard of the people.
Those elected members include Mr. Emmanuel Okechukwu Amadi, President General; SUPOl Donatus Onwudebe, Vice President General, Mr. Nwankwo Promise A, General Secretary, while Hon. Stephen Onwuka was elected Public Relations Officer. Others include Barr. Chima Elechi Eze, Assistant General Secretary; Mr. Francis Kemakolom Munonye, Financial Secretary; Comrade Obinna Ogbonna Chukwuemeka, Director of Socials; Mr. Ngozi Amadi, Treasurer; and Mr Stanley Chike, Provost.
In his acceptance speech, the new elected president who spoke on behalf of the newly elected executives, Mr Amadi, Emmanuel Okechukwu said he accepted to serve the community diligently and with the fear of God and promised to work as a team to justify the huge confidence placed on them.
“We shall work with the elders, chiefs, youths and opinion leaders to move our community forward. We also pledge to support all the relevant security agencies to fight crime such as cultism, banditry and other forms of insecurity ravaging our societies today.
We shall promote peace, security, education and development including sanitation. These we need to accomplish with the collaboration of our youths, chiefs and other stakeholders,” he stated.
