Rivers United Gets New Chief Coach …As Chairmen Hail Appointment
In a bid to ensure that Rivers United Football Club of Port Harcourt is technically sound, the management of the club has made two significant appointments.
Nduka Ndubisi has been appointed Technical Director of the club. Until his new position he was the Chief Coach of the team.
While the immediate past coach of seven-time Nigeria Professional Football League ( NPFL) Champions, Enyimba Football Club, Fatai Osho, has also been appointed the Chief Coach.
This was contained in a press statement made available to Tidesports source, on Monday.
Reacting to the new appointments, the Supporters Club Chairman of Rivers United FC, Comrade Franklin Owhor, said the appointment of Fatai Osho as Chief Coach of the club is the best thing that has happened.
According to him, Osho, is a good coach following his antecedents in Enyimba.
“This is what we have been expecting since, thank God it has come to pass. I do know that Fatai Osho is a good coach and I know he will help the Technical Adviser of the club, Stanley Eguma to achieve the club’s target,” Owhor said.
In his reaction, former Chairman of the Supporters Club, Asonye Otis, also expressed happiness, saying that the appointment of Fatai Osho as Chief Coach will improve the technical department of the team, following his pedigree in coaching.
“I am really excited because we are sure that the team will be sound technically. Osho did not do badly in Enyimba, so I believe he will also do well in United,” Otis said.
Also, in his opinion, former Chairman of defunct Sharks Supporters Club, Minainyo Igani, said the appointments made were a welcome deveploment.
He noted that the management has done the best for the club for bringing credible coach to assist the technical adviser.
