Amusan Breaks Silesia’s Meet Record
Tobi Amusan continued her fine post-Olympics form as she broke the meet’s record at the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial in Silesia, Poland on Sunday.
The competition, which is a World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting, saw Amusan run 12.64secs to win ahead of Olympics bronze-medallist Megan Tapper of Jamaica in 12.75secs.
USA’s Christiana Clemons placed third in 12.92.
Tidesports source reports that Amusan, who narrowly missed out on a podium finish at the Olympics after placing fourth behind Puerto Rico’s Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, the USA’s Kendra Harrison and Tapper has been involved in four races after.
She won the Citius Meeting in 12.80secs in Bern, Switzerland August 21 and placed fourth at the Paris Diamond League seven days later.
Photo finish needed to be used to separate her and the winner Nadine Visser at the Brussels Diamond League with a time of 12.69secs last Friday.
The 24-year-old is the only Nigerian in the Diamond League final holding in Zurich, Friday.
