Events Of 2021 Mothering Sunday Revisited
Though the 2021 annual Mothers Day celebration has come and gone, the message of the spiritual event still echoes laud and clear in the hearts of chritain faithful, who were opportuned to participate in the annual festival of motherhood faith.
The sermon of the day was based on the annual event with the theme: “The Heavenly Minded Woman”, taken from Matt 6.33 as preached by the Quest Preacher, Dr (Mrs) Huldah Illogu, at Bethel Anglican Church, Amadi-Ama, Port Harcourt.
The woman of God admonished women of God to respect their husbands, give adequate care and attention to the well being of their families and as heavenly minded people, to refrain from adultery and fornication, adding that they should be born again mothers and character moulders.
She further explained that the meaning of born again is simply to change from ungodly life to righteous behaviour.
The event was fully graced by women of substance, among whom were, former Commissioner for Education in Rivers State Dame Alice Nemi and Lady (Hon) Joeba West, who read the first lesson, Matt 6.33, while the second lesson was read by Madam Meekly Omgboanga, who emphasised character moulding for the child.
The event was highlighted by evergreen songs by late Cameroonian musician, Nico Mbanga, rendered by Shallon Band of the Bethel Anglican Church, which ignited the atmosphere. The music session turned the Sunday service into a music fiesta and an entertainment galore as women, youths and children danced skillfully to the rhythm of the songs.
Other side attractions included varieties like drama sketches, gospel musical performances, among others.
