“Charter Demands gives the community an opportunity and genuine engagement with the local authorities involved in making decisions with regard to government and power sharing in your local area”, Omorodion said.
The NGO’s executive director further stated that Charter Demands gives local people a direct role in influencing local services and also enable them become active contributor to the improvements of  their area rather than just being passive recipients.
“You can also be part of making budget in your local government through the Charter Demands,” she said.
According to her, the programme is being targeted at Rivers and Akwa Ibom States.
Speaking to newsman after the training, the Chairman of Rumuodamaya Community Development Committee (RCDC), Mr Wobo Friday said  that the programme is a welcome development.
