RSG Inaugurates Five-Man Steering Committee
To ensure Team Rivers perform credibly at the forthcoming National Sports Festival (NSF) tagged “Edo 2020,” Rivers State Commissioner for Sports, Hon. Boma Iyaye, has inaugurated a five man steering committee.
He urged the committee to ensure that athletes were properly taken care of and successful outing in the competition and submit the report within three days.
Hon. Iyaye, handed the charge shortly after inaugurated the committee, yesterday, at the board room of Alfred Diete Spiff sports complex, Moscow road, Port Harcourt.
He further tasked the committee to ascertain the number of athletes that will participate in the festival and mostly importantly give athletes the desired welfare package.
“ The committee will also ensure that the objective and aspirations of the state government is achieved,” he stated.
Speaking, the Chairman of the committee, Honour Sirawoo, who is also the Permanent Secretary in the state ministry of Sports, thanked the commissioner for the unique step he took.
“ This unique step you have taken, has become more clearer to me, Rivers people and the Governor of the State, that you are committed to Team Rivers, “Sirawoo said.
The Chairman assured the commissioner that his committee will do its best to have a successful sports festival.
Other members of the committee are ;
Mildred Hart, Opakriba Harry, Chioma Christopher and Gilbert Sepribo, to serve as secretary.
