Education, Antidote To Insecurity – Aide
A Senior Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Security Matters, Comrade Ezekiel Daniel has called on governments at all levels to take the issue of job creation and education seriously to bring an end to the current insecurity situation in Nigeria.
Addressing journalists recently in Asaba, Daniel said youth constituted majority of the society and are vulnerable to insurgency and other social vices if not educated and gainfully employed.
According to him, “this dispensation should insist that parents must do more in the raising up of children, adding that when that is put in place the growing delinquencies in the country would be stemmed. “
Daniel said: “ All the problems we are facing today not only in this nation but globally is interrelated and they have to do with the changing times due to technology which is also in part responsible for climate change because of human intervention with machines which in turn causes global warming and such causes unemployment.
“Unemployment is currently causing insecurity with youth becoming delinquent. The problems are interelated. Once there are jobs, that will also directly affect the issues of insecurity because people will be gainfully employed whether in business or other fields. We are going through trying times and facing lots of challenges as a sovereign nation.”
