Legislator Lauds Wike On Chairmen’s Suspension
Member representing Omuma State Constituency, Hon. Kelechi Nworgu, has thrown his weight behind the suspension of 12 Council chairmen by the governor penultimate week.
The legislator who barred his mind to newsmen shortly after the House approved the suspension says the action will inject discipline in the administration.
Besides, he posited that the suspension is in line with State Local Government law of 2018.
He said,” the governor acted within the limits of his powers as authorised by the local government law of 2018.”
The two-time law maker stated that the governor was also shouldering some of the responsibilities that ought to be performed by local government chairmen.
He urged other chairmen to learn from the action of the governor and ensure they exemplify good conduct in their activities.
“Next time when they call a meeting by 10 a.m before 8a.m they would be there, including the vice chairmen. In any organization there must be discipline” Nworgu maintained.
Recall that two weeks ago the governor suspended the chairmen following their failure to attend an emergency meeting summoned by the state chief executive.
