Head Coach Makes Case For Grassroots Football

The Head Coach of Dimond Warriors’ Academy/ Football Club of Port Harcourt, Chika Adele has appealed to the Rivers State Government, private companies, well-meaning in dividuals and corprate organisations in the state to support grassroots football.
She explained that her football club is not up to a year, but she has discovered some good players that can represent the state and the nation.
Adele who said this in a telephone interview with Tidesports, noted that her players have been impressive, saying this new year things will be better than last year.
According to her, during the Coach Stanley Eguma, grassroots U-12 football competition, five of her players were picked by the organiser of the competition to add with some other players that will be taken for grooming.
“Not up to a year I have gone to different state with my players it a thing of joy for me, I need support to do more in discovering more players, ’’ Coach Adele explained.
She commended her players for their achievement in 2018, adding that 2019 the academy will do better.
Adele explained that her main aim of forming the football club is to discover hidden talents amongst the youth in Port Harcourt and groom them to star, adding that many young people are moving on the streeltsbegging for help.
She thanked God for the health of her player’s adding that there are better days ahead in 2019.
“ During the Excel Sports, catch them young competition, three of my players were picked to be groomed in Dubai till now, we are still expecting a call from the organisers (Excel Sports),’’ Adele explained.
