Cult Group Sacks Rivers Community, Kills Three
A cult group suspected to be Iceland has killed three persons and sacked Ubimini community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.
An eyewitness, who spoke with The Tide in Port Harcourt last Monday under the cloak of anonymity explained that the Icelanders invaded the community from Egbeda, a neighbouring town, beheaded three persons suspected to be members of rival Deygbam cult group.
He noted that after decapitating their victims, the Icelanders took away their heads in buckets, and went back to their camp in Egbeda.
The eyewitness said the people of Ubimini Community had fled for fear of another unprovoked aggression by rival cult.
The eyewitness, however, said that peace was gradually returning to the community.
It will be recalled that Egbeda, a close neighbour, to Ubimini community has been embroiled in cult rivalries for more than two months.
The spill over of the cult clash caused the killing of the three persons.
A Conflict Resolution and Project Committee set up by the Community’s paramount ruler His Royal Highness (HRH), Eze Christopher Didia, Nye-nwe Ali Egbeda/Ubimini, has been in the front burner of the peace process.
