Body Organises Workshop For Guber Aspirants On Imo Dev

In a desire to accomplish a well structured development in Imo State, a body known as Imo Economic Development Initiative (IEDI), has held a 2-day workshop for some gubernatorial aspirants of certain political parties gearing for the 2019 general elections in order to expose them to the needed facts of development in the state.
The IEDI which was championed by the former INEC chairman, Professor Maurice Iwu, held the timely and recent workshop at the Protea Hotel situated at New Owerri axis.
In interacting with the media at the programme, the secretary of IEDI, Professor Christopher Ezeh, rolled out some of their resolutions to include: maintenance of a cooperation with the gubernatorial aspirants towards good governance and overall development of the state, aspirants’ acceptance to think Imo, drink Imo and act Imo first even after the party primaries, unanimous acceptance of a paradigm shift of Imo by all the aspirants; aspirants’ appreciation of a peaceful conduct of party primaries and subsequent 2019 elections; acceptance by aspirants to use all the human and natural resources in Imo for the benefits of the citizens; aspirants’ readiness to reduce hardship, poverty, hunger and diseases affecting the Imolites.
In same sphere, the secretary of the IEDI equally stated that they were satisfied with the presentation of well articulated and thought out plan of action by the affected gubernatorial aspirants with a view to accomplishing them.
Some of the areas considered in that direction include: security, rule of law, environmental sanitation, industrialization, education, rural revitalization of health service, security of live and property restructuring/development.
Some of the PDP gubernatorial aspirants that attended the workshop included senator Samuel Anyanwu, Professor Jude Njoku, Barr. Chukwuma Ekomaru, and Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha; while some APGA aspirants in attendance included Hon. Uche Onyeagucha, Capt. David Mbamara, Frank Nneji, Okey Eze, Barr. Charles Onyeagbako, Barr. Ziggy Azike, and Daniel Kanu.
