‘Why Winfrey, Graham Never Got Married’

Talk show host, Oprah Winfrey who has been in a long time partnership with businessman, Stedman Graham,  for decades, has revealed why they never got married. In her interview with Vogue Magazine, Oprah 63, disclosed that though she and Stedman Graham have been together  for more than 30 years, they have scarcely discussed walking down the isle.

“Nobody believes it, but  it’s true, the only time I brought it up was when I said to Stedman what would have happened if we had actually gotten married? And the answer is, “we would not have stayed together because marriage requires a different way of being in this world”.

“The interpretation of what it means to be a husband and what it would mean for me to be a wife would have been pretty traditional and I would not have been able to fit into that”. Explaining what she’s learned from choosing not to marry her long time partner, Oprah Winfrey said, live life on your own terms”.

Last year, Winfrey shut down wedding rumours after reports emerged that the couple had tied the knot. six people who know me well have called today congratulating me or surprised they weren’t invited to my wedding. In the interview with vogue was at The Tea House of her opulent estate in California where she lives which she purchased in 2001 and calls The Promise Land” spans in total of 65 acres and sits between the Santa Ynez mountains and the Pacific Ocean. The estate also includes a grove of 12 trees she calls “The apostles “ and a fountain, the size of a lake that shoots water to the heavens.

Speaking on some of the highs and lows in her life and career so far, Oprah explains why one should not wallow in failure and depression”.
