AMAA 2017: Senegal’s Felicite Emerges Biggest Winner
The 13th edition of the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) was held at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, on Saturday July 15, 2017 with a moment of silence as the fallen heroes of African Cinema were being remembered.
Senegalese movie “Felicite”, emerged the biggest winner of the night. The movie won six AMAAs, the most of all the contenders. The movie took home awards in three of the five major categories, Winning Best Film, Best Actress in a leading role and Best Supporting Actor.
Nigerian historical drama, ’76 won three awards from its eight nominations, including the special recognition honour given to Veteran Comic Actor, Nkem Owoh.
