Edo Poll: INEC Distributes PVCs’ ‘Morrow
The Edo State Office of the
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said yesterday that it would commence the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to registered voters ahead of the Sept. 10 gubernatorial election in Edo tomorrow.
The commission’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mrs Priscillia Sule, who disclosed this in Benin yesterday , said the exercise would be for three days.
Sule said the period for distribution of the PVCs had been fixed for between September 3 and September 5.
She said the exercise would commence at 8:00 a.m. each day in all registered units and wards across the 18 Local Government Areas of the state.
Sule, therefore, advised eligible registered voters, including those who registered during the last continuous voters’ registration (CVR) in June, to ensure that they collected their cards within the stipulated time.
She noted that no eligible registered voter without a PVC would be allowed to vote at the election.
Sule did not, however, disclose the number of PVCs awaiting collection.
