APC Fuelling Crisis In PDP – Opara
The former Deputy
Speaker of House of Representatives, Rt Hon Austin Opara has accused the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of working to destabilise the state despite the efforts of the state Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike to make the state investor friendly.
Hon Opara who stated this when Rebisi nu Obio/Akpor Support Group of the Peoples Democratic Party paid him a visit at his residence also accused the APC of fuelling the crisis in the PDP.
The former Deputy Speaker lamented what he called “external intervention” in the party, stressing that Ali Modu Sheriff is meeting with the leadership of the APC with a view to causing confusion in the party.
He alleged that the APC assisted the former Acting National Chairman to get court order from Lagos State.
According to him, “See what is happening in our state for instance. It is not by accident. It is planned and executed by the APC so that they can destabilise Wike’s administration. Unfortunately for them, Wike is ready for anyone”.
He advised the group to remain committed, and focused, and support Wike in his efforts to restructure the state.
Earlier, the leader of the group, Mr Livingstone Wechie, assured the former Speaker of the group’s commitment to the PDP.
Wechie, who is also the Coordinator of the Integrity Group in Rivers State, said the essence of the visit was to commend him for standing behind Governor Wike, adding that the vision of the group is to always promote the progress of Rebisi nu Obio/Akpor.
