LG Boss Presents Canoes To Fisherfolks In Ogu/Bolo
The Caretaker Committee
Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Mr. Isaac Ibiberebupakabo has presented ten canoes to some fisherfolks in the area.
Speaking while presenting the canoes to the beneficiaries that cut across the various communities of the LGA at the Council’s premises recently Ibiberebupakabo said the gesture was to empower them in their occupation.
He enjoined them to make good use of the boats so as to provide more fish for the consumption of the masses, stressing that “nutritious value of fish to human health cannot be over-emphasised”.
The Local Government boss also enjoined them to be proud of their occupation and put in some innovations in order to catch up with the current trend in fishing, saying that by so doing they would catch more fish for human consumption as well as improve their income for better livelihood.
Responding on behalf of the recipients, Mr. Thompson Oguama thanked the Ogu/Bolo Local Government Caretaker Committee Chairman, Isaac Ibiberebupakabo for the gesture and promised to make good use of the opportunity given to them.
