Why We Should Celebrate Mothers Everyday’ …Mrs Wike Drums Men’s Support For Women

Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has described Rivers Mothers as critical partners in his administration who are strategically placed in the process of creating a new Rivers State
The governor who stated this in a message to Rivers Mothers on the 2016 Mothering Sunday described them as compassionate, unique and hardworking and a blessing to the state.
According to him, Rivers Mothers should be celebrated daily for their priceless contributions to the state and human being.
Governor Wike said the state was founded on the productivity and contributions of Rivers Mothers and urged them to sustain their contributions to the development of the state despite societal challenges.
Meanwhile, wife of Rivers State Governor, Justice Suzette Nyesom-Wike has called Rivers men to support the women in their lives for the faster development of the state.
She also appealed to Rivers women to support Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike in his commitment to develop the state.
Speaking on Sunday at the Christ Anglican Church, Port Harcourt during a service to mark the Rivers State Women/Mothering Sunday, Justice Nyesom-Wike said women must seek the cooperation of men to advance women rights in the society.
The governor’s wife who said Mothering is very challenging task, pointed out that effective Mothering is necessary for the stability of the state.
She urged Mothers to take steps to prevail on their children and husbands to work towards improved security in the state.
Justice Suzzette Nyesom-Wike said that Governor Wike is working hard to enhance the security of lives and property in Rivers State, hence he requires the support of the people.
She said: “The governor is doing the best to improve security in the state. He is doing everything to support security agencies to combat crime in the state “.
The celebration of the Mothering Sunday and Thanksgiving Service for the forthcoming International Women Day attracted wives of top government functionaries in the state.
