RSG Appoints Committee To Re-Organise Sharks, Dolphins
The Rivers State Gov
ernment has named a six-man committee saddled with the responsibility of producing blue print aimed at re-organizing the two State-sponsored professional football clubs; Sharks and Dolphins.
The blue print will subsequently be scrutinized by the sponsors of the clubs via the Rivers State Sports ministry with the aim of charting a more positive course for the 2015/16 football season.
Former Nigeria international Chief Adokiye Amiesimaka will serve as Chairman of the committee while Rivers State Football Association Chairman, Barrister Chris Green, National Vice President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN South-South Honour Sirawoo, Chairman of the Sharks FC supporters club; Isaiah Ogolo and Chairman Dolphins FC supporters club, Franklin Owhor, will serve as members.
The Director (Admin), Rivers State Ministry of Sports, Austin Ezekiel Hart will serve as secretary of the committee, while the inauguration will take place at the Conference Room of the Rivers State Ministry of Sports on Monday, January 18th 2016 by 11am.
Speaking on the development on Friday, the State Commissioner for Sports, Honourable Boma Iyaye explained that the move is expected to produce positive results for the two clubs in future.
He added that the six men selected for the task ahead possess the required qualities and track records, to do a thorough job for the state.
