Cycling Association Begins Preparation Ahead Of Competitions
Head Coach of the
Rivers State Cycling Association, Emmanuel Ononsanya, has said that his team has commenced training ahead of competitions this year.
Coach Ononsanya disclosed this on Tuesday in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt.
According to him, the team now awaits the Nigeria cycling Federation to invite the state for their programmes slated for the new year.
He said that the monthly cycling competition would hold this month and at it’s regular venue in Old GRA, Port Harcourt.
Coach Ononsanya also said that the yearly Cycling competition tagged Garden City Cycling Championships normally organised by the association in the state may not hold.
He said that the election matters in the state should be soughted out before the association can organize the event.
“Right now things are yet to stabilize fully and we can not afford to invite athletes from other states to participate in a championship ,” he said.
The 2015 edition of the Garden City Cycling Championship did not also hold last year due to the “2015 General Elections” which lingered for so long before the association decided that the competition be moved to this year.
