The Nigeria Football Federation, (NFF)  may have soft pedaled on a decision to banish goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama and strip him of the captaincy of the Super Eagles for his controversial comments regarding the safety of Kaduna for an AFCON qualifier.
The NFF decision may not be unconnected with the furore that greeted the saga which included the Lille goalkeeper tearing a query given to him to defend himself as his comments in the media that Kaduna was not safe to stage the 2017 AFCON qualifier against Chad last month.
“Enyeama will now pay a fine and this will be treated internally,” a top official informed.
Enyeama is the most capped Nigeria international after he made his 101st appearance for the Super Eagles  against Chad in Kaduna.
Lazio midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has already been fined for his dismissal from the same match.
Meanwhile, Former Nigeria skipper Sunday Oliseh will today  in Abuja sign a contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as the country’s new coach.
The contract signing will be done at a public presentation slated for the Abuja National Stadium this morning.
Oliseh, 40, will replace Keshi, who was sacked for a breach of trust.
Oliseh and his Belgian sidekick, Jean Francois Lusciuto, were due to arrive in Abuja yesterday evening and meet with the NFF technical committee headed by Felix Anyansi-Agwu at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.
The new Eagles coach has picked Losciuto because of his deep knowledge of African football as he has dirtied his hands in Togo, Rwanda and Burkina Faso.
It was  also gathered that Oliseh has said he will prefer to work with current Nigeria U23 goalkeeper Alloy Agu, meaning Ike Shorunmu would lose his position.
