Rivers Won’t Witch-Hunt Any One -Dep Gov

The Rivers Deputy Governor, Dr. Ipalibo Banigo has said that the present administration was focused at developing the state and not to witch-hunt political opponents.
She stated this while speaking at a special thanksgiving service organized for the success of the election and swearing-in ceremony of the deputy governor at St. Cyprian’s Anglican Church, Port Harcourt.
Banigo thanked churches and women for their support and prayers, stressing that the present administration would ensure that women are considered in affairs of the state.
She added that there was no going back in their campaign promises to Rivers people as they are working toward the dreams for the state.
Banigo described their victory as a victory for Rivers people and not the party, adding that for us the success is for Rivers people”.
The deputy governor expressed gratitude to God and the church for their intercession during the period of trials, and also called for continued prayer for the administration.
In his sermon, the Vicar of St. Cyprian’s Anglican Church, Ven Amavey Abbey-Kalio took his text from lamentation 3:37, and said she only emerged as the first female deputy governor in the state because the Lord has chosen her, urging her to be strong for the task ahead.
He also charged the administration to beware of sycophants, praying for God’s guidance and protection for the administration.
