NUJ Congratulates Wike, Pledges Support

The Rivers State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has congratulated the Rivers State Governor, Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and his Deputy, Dr. Ipallibo Harry-Banigo, on their assumption of office.
In a statement signed by the state acting Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the union, Dr Alpheaus Paul-Worika and Secretary, Mike Mbonye, the NUJ said it was “glad that you have come into office with tremendous experience in public service and great ideas that will ensure the implementation of genuine programmes that will benefit Rivers people, and also secure the state for a glorious future.
“As journalists, we shall not fail in the performance of our roles in informing and educating the public as watchdogs of the society; and also in promoting a new vision of accountability and good governance in Rivers State.
“The NUJ assures your administration of unflinching support and cooperation in the task of moving Rivers State to greater heights, and prays for God’s guidance in your endeavours as you pilot the affairs of the state”, the statement added.
